I mounted these tires on an older Trek 800 Antelope that is ridden daily 12 to 20 miles. The tire noise almost disappeared, and the smaller tires have superior rolling resistance over the Wal-mart tires that were on this Bicycle... I installed a set of Stop Flats inside the tire rather than keep the heaver thicker puncture proof tubes...It will be a long while to know how they wear, with a maximum 100 miles a week they should last a few years on the smooth pavement I use for my route. it is only a cold wind that might hinder the daily ride here in Las Vegas. The tires I recieved were made by Kenda. This was a pleasant surprise because Kenda is a reputable tire company.I bought these to replace the off-road tires on mine and my wifes mountain bikes. Since having children I now pull a trailer behind my bike and we do not go off-road. My main reason for wanting street tires is because the aggressive knobby tires constantly kick up debris into the trailer, covering the poor kids with rocks, leaves and anything else on the road. I also knew the rolling resistance would be much less, meaning we could go further and faster on the same energy. I was a bit disappointed to find these tires are only recommended up to 50 psi of air pressure. However this is my only complaint. The tires mounted easily and straight the first time, and they work just fine. They could offer even less resistance if I could pump them up to 80 psi or so, but I want them to last so I will stick within the recommended pressure. They are much more quiet... Read more |
