I have only put about 100 miles on these tires so far so I can't speak to their durability just yet, but they have performed very well so far. I was in the market for a tire with very low roll resistance but didn't want to get slicks because of the little traction they provide while cornering. These tires fit the bill, with a slick tread in the center of the tire and slightly more grippy treads on the sides. It is suitable for many applications from training, to touring, and probably ok for racing too especially where durability and cornering are concerns. I had a gray 23C on the front and a 25C on the back and i like that combination. The 25c size gives a great ride and is still fast. I have a red set of 23's on another set of rims. The tread is directional and is meant to be installed with the word "Detonator" on the right or drive side of the wheel. It has been a great training tire for me on the hilly backroads of Kentucky where there are many road hazards and where the wide yearly climate change makes for rough roads. Havent had any flats from thorns or rocks but a pot hole split the tire down the side. Had a little over 3k on my first set before the pot hole blew the rear out. |
